tartan

Tartan scarf - Primark, £4
Denim jacket - mum's old DIY
Leather strip leggings - Charity shop, £3
White tee - Gap, £3 (sale)

I was ridicously hungover yesterday and spent until 2.30pm in bed struggling to move. It was my last day with my best friends before we go to uni, so I got up and (tried) to make an effort.
I have been looking for a tartan scarf for ages and finally managed to snap up this bargain in Primark which I am super happy with. I like the simplicity and chilled vibe of this outfit, but teamed with the scarf and my Calvin Klein purple lipstick, it looks like I have made an effort! I also wore my black JuJu jellies too.

DIY floral

Blouse - Charity shop, DIY, £1
Skirt - Internacionale, £9
Boots - Select, £20

I am totally in love with these boots I bought the other day. They are so similar to the Topshop Arabel boots which makes me so happy. I nearly spent £80 on some Vagabonds the other week so I'm glad I didn't after buying these.
I bought this blouse (which was a midi dress) the other day in hope of cutting and hemming it into an above the knee. But, my rubbish cutting skills ruined it and so now it's a blouse. I really like the way it hangs and the v neck.

9 days until i'm off to uni!

shorts&blazer

Blazer - Primark, £7 (sale)
Shorts - Charity shop (topshop), £2.50
Top - Charity shop (h&m), £2
Necklace - Peacocks, £3.50 (sale)

I really love this outfit. I love the necklace which adds a touch of glamour to an outfit of block colour. The brightness of the baggy vest contrasts with the peach and black which I really like.

offically a fashion student

Leather jacket - Charity shop, £4
Quilted skirt - New Look, £6 (sale)
Black vest - Charity shop, £1

So much has happened over the past few weeks! I got into uni to study fashion buying with marketing which I am so excited about; I went to V festival which was so amazing; and I stupidly dip-dyed my hair pink which I highly regret.
I love this quilted skirt. I've been after one for ages but didn't want to spend to much on one. When I found this one randomly in the New Look sale I bought it straight away even though it is 1 size too big.
I'm currently in the middle of buying a capsule wardrobe of staple pieces for uni because I have waaaay too many random items of clothing which don't go together

let's go to the beach each

T shirt - Primark, £4
Jeans - New Look, £6 (sale)
Necklace - Primark, £1 (sale)
Rings - Primark and Accessorize
Bracelets - Dorothy Perkins and Tenerife market
Juju jellies - ASOS, £18

I really love my new 7/8th jeans from New Look. They are super dark and super tight and look great with my Juju's. I wore this outfit yesterday to the beach, changed to a skirt and tshirt in the car, and then changed back to this when it chucked it down with rain!

something different

Floral blouse - Charity shop, £3
Skirt - H&M, £3.99
Rings - Accessorize, £1.80 (sale)
Nail varnish - Barry M (grapefruit), £3.99

I used to live in short black bodycon skirts, but rarely ever wear them now, unless it's a midi. I also haven't worn this blouse in about a year, but remembered how much I love it when I found it in my 'never where' wardrobe.

floral print jeans

White tee - Primark, £2.50
Jeans - Local boutique, £10 (sale)
Gladiator sandals - Topshop, £5 (sale)
Bag - Primark, £8

I love these floral jeans which I bought last week. I've been after a pair for a while name but could never justify spending lots of money on such a statement pair of jeans. All summer I've been wanting a pair of black sandals. I found these Topshop ones in my garage the other day which I bought for when I went to Tenerife in February but haven't worn since. They were a bargain at £5 reduced from £62! I bought a new bag on Thursday as I was getting annoyed with always having to carry around my big H&M one, so decided to downsize to a cute little black satchel.

vintage tube pants

Crop top - River Island, £7 (sale)
Jeans - Charity shop, £2.50
Jelly shoes - ASOS, £18

This outfit is so similar to one I blogged about a few weeks ago but I decided to wear super tight vintge tube pants instead of my baggy ones. I spent the morning yesterday trying on outfits to go with my jelly shoes and I think this one really works. I love the contrast between the light blue of the denim and the jet black of the crop top and jellies.

the heat

Crop top - Primark, £2.50
Skirt - ASOS, £11 (sale)
Necklace - Topshop, £1.50 (sale)

It's ridiculously hot today and I've spent nearly an hour trying to find something to wear. I might wear this skirt but I feel too covered in this 30 degree heat. This is one of skirts I ordered off ASOS the other day and the only one I'm keeping. Out of the 3 I ordered I know I'll wear this the most. I want to get a collection of midi skirts together before Uni because they are so easy to throw on with a plain tee. This skirt is a really nice floral print in a swim suit material so practically sticks to me! I just teamed it with my simple grey crop top as the pattern of the skirt is crazy enough!

back

Vest - Primark (old)
Blouse - Charity shop, £3
Trousers - ASOS, £13 (sale)
Juju jellies - ASOS, £18 (with student discount)
Necklacce - Topshop, £1.50 (sale)

My £100+ ASOS order finally arrived this afternoon. So happy with these trousers and Juju's! I've been wanting a pair for so long but just never got round to getting some. The trousers are a nice silky material which hang nice and are slightly high waisted. I really needed some plain black trousers because I am reluctant to spend £40 on jeans and seem to have too many other patterned bottoms.
The only clothes I've worn the past 2 weeks are my work uniform and crops tops and skirts. I'm really looking forward to having a few more days off work so I can actually put together some proper outfits.

too hot to compile a proper outfit

Top - Bershka, £2.99
Levi Shorts (DIY) - eBay, 99p

Today is the first day since the heat wave began that I've actually had time to sunbathe. With working and socialising, getting a natural tan has been hard! I'm super brown on my arms though and had fake tanned everywhere else.
I haven't worn denim shorts in so long, but today I just can't be bothered to find an outfit because it is way to hot. I love this top which I bought from Bershka when I was in Tenerife in February. I forgot I had it, but found it this morning. It's great to wear over a strapless bikini because it has such a great back.
Off to go sunbathe some more...

bright pink & monochrome

Skirt - H&M, £3.99
Top - Primark, £4

I love the contrast between the monochrome and the vibrant pink of the chiffon top. I bought this skirt yesterday because I am seriously lacking in skirts/general summer bottoms. It's a bit bigger than I would like as I can tell it'll stretch pretty easily but the XS looked tiny!

Dress - Primark, £11
Cardigan - Charity shop, £1
Boots - eBay, £30ish

I love my new cardigan and it's perfect as a throw on for summer!

Saturday 13 July 2013

short shorts

Shorts - Primark, £4
Top - Primark, £5

It's pretty rare to see me in shorts now. Back last summer, I was obsessed with high waisted denim cut offs, but I can't actually remember the last time I wore a pair. I've sold most of them on eBay now anyway.
I love these (very see through) monochrome shorts from Primark which were an absolute bargain at £4! I wore this outfit in the day yesterday and did feel a little bare with so much flesh on but it was so hot so I sort of got away with it. The shorts can be worn pretty high waisted but I sat them just on my hip bones so my bum cheek weren't on show!
